1. Kangla, Imphal
The Palace of Kangla is an old palace at Imphal in the Manipur state of India. It was situated on both sides (western and eastern) of the bank of the Imphal River. Kangla has a special place in the hearts and minds of the Manipuri people. The literal meaning of Kangla is Dry Land and it is a part of the Meitei language. Kangla is the most historically significant place in Manipur. As the ancient capital of Manipur, Kangla fort was much revered. The fort comprises royal palaces, temples and burial grounds of the members of royal families. Today the Kangla Fort is a major tourist attraction in Imphal which is visited by travelers coming from across the globe. 2. The Indo Japanese Peace Memorial
One of the historic places in Manipur, The Indo Japanese Peace Memorial) is famous for being the site where a fierce battle was fought between the Japanese Army and the British Army of the Allied force during World War II. Today, a peace memorial stands at this site and has become a major tourist attraction. With a properly manicured garden of green plants and flowers, this memorial site is located along the side of the Tiddim Road. 3. Senapati
Senapati District is located in the northern part of Manipur bordered by Phek district on the North, The Senapati District is known for its beautiful scenery of blue hills, green valleys, serpentine streams and rivers flowing through mountains and deep gorges making it a perfect outdoor location in Manipur. 6. Bishnupur

7. Churachandpur
Being the second largest town in Manipur after Imphal, Churachandpur is one of the destinations in Manipur which is worth a visit once in a lifetime. 8. Thoubal
The name ‘Thoubal’ comes from ‘Athouba’ meaning brave people symbolizing the courageous people of the district. It is one of the larger towns of Manipur. It is idyllic and has many lakes and rivers, paddy fields, and gardens. It is well connected with Imphal, Kakching, Moreh, and Yairipok.The main attractions include Chinga Lairembi temple, Tomjing ching, Panthoibee temple, Thoubal bazar, Thangjing ching (from where one can have a bird’s eye view of waithou lake) and Khangabok Menjor garden. Main shopping centers are Thoubal Keithel, Ningombam Laxmi Bazar(popular for tharoi kanghou), Athokpam Bazar, and Babu Bazar. Thoubal has huge potential for fisheries and aquaculture in the Waithou lake and surrounding rivers and water bodies.
9. Keithel market
Ima Keithel, also known as Ima Market or Nupi Keithel is a market run exclusively by women in Imphal, India. It is a commercial center and a popular tourist attraction in the state of Manipur. It has shifted its location within the city of Imphal over the years and is currently located in Khwairamband Bazar. It is unique to all women’s markets, having 3000 “Imas” or mothers who run the stalls, it is split into two sections on either side of the road. Vegetables, fruits, fish and household groceries are sold on one side and exquisite handlooms and household tools on the other.
10. Loktak Lake
The lake is located at Moirang in Manipur state, India. The etymology of Loktak is Lok “stream” and tak “the end”. Loktak, the largest freshwater lake in North East India is also known as the ‘floating lake’ for the numerous phumdis or masses of vegetation it supports. The Act prohibits dwellings on the phumdis and the dwellers were termed occupiers. This ancient lake plays an important role in the economy of Manipur. It serves as a source of water for hydropower generation, irrigation and drinking water supply.) The lake invites tourists from far and wide for its eternal beauty.
11. Keibul Lamjao National Park
The only floating National Park in the world, the Keibul Lamjao National Park located on the Loktak Lake is the last natural habitat of the ‘Sangai’ (Rucervus eldii eldii), the dancing deer of Manipur. A glimpse of the deer in this unique wetland ecosystem is a must for any wildlife enthusiast. Besides being home to animals like sambar, wild boar, hog deer and jungle cat, this place boasts of a large number of endangered as well as common bird species like East Himalayan pied kingfisher and many more.
12. Dzukou Valley
The Dzüko Valley is a valley located at the borders of the states of Nagaland and Manipur in Northeast India. This valley is well known for its natural environment, seasonal flowers and flora & fauna. The valley is famous for its wide range of flowers in every season but the most famous one is the Dzüko Lily and it is found only in this valley. Dzukou valley trek where reality becomes dreamlike. 13. Tharon cave
Tharon Cave located about 27 km from Tamenglong, the district headquarters of Tamenglong district is one of the must visit places in Manipur. It is said that the caves have been used as shelters for over thousands of years. Excavations inside the cave produced items related to the Hobinian culture of North Vietnam.The Tharon cave is sure to give you a whole different and unusual experience as if you are entering into the unknown world. The cave has a good ventilation system that ensures ample air circulation. The cave is also known as the abode of fruit bats.
14. Shree Govindji temple
Shree Govindajee Temple is the largest Vaishnava temple in Imphal district of Manipur, India. The temple is located next to the palace of the former rulers of the Manipur Kingdom. The temple is simple in design with two gold plated domes, a paved court and a large, raised mantapa, or congregation hall. Being largely visited by the people every year, Shree Govindajee Temple in Imphal is the shining golden building that attracts many tourists besides the regular devotees. Being one of the prime attractions of Manipur the temple has the deities of Hindu gods, Radha and Krishna Govinda. Shree Govindji Temple can be visited at any time of the year.
15. Andro
Andro is a small hamlet located towards the east of Imphal and is popularly known for its pottery. Apart from pottery, Andro is also famous for a Doll House, which showcases dolls belonging to 29 popular Manipuri tribes. Traditional methods of pottery are replaced with a flat stone and a bat, which is used to beat the mud into a required shape. Along with pots, the women also make vases, piggy banks and lamps. This small village has also witnessed a certain level of development in terms of transportation facilities. Travelers can easily avail buses, cycles, auto-rickshaws and taxis to access different locations.
