21. Statue of Unity

The statue, standing at a height of almost 790 ft. (including the base), is the tallest statue in the world that is visible from space making it one of the best places to visit in Gujarat. Visitors are allowed to go up to the viewing gallery that is located near the chest height of the statue located at around 500 ft. for close views of the statue surrounded by Satpura and Vindhya ranges. 22. Palitana

Palitana is a town in Bhavnagar district, Gujarat, India. It is a major pilgrimage center (“shashwat tirth”) for Jains. The Palitana temples and the whole mountain are considered the most sacred pilgrimage place (tirtha) by the Jain community and is the world’s largest Temple Complex.  The main temple on top of the hill, is dedicated to the first Tirthankara Rishabhanatha (Rishabhadeva). Palitana became the first city in the world to be legally vegetarian. It has outlawed, or made illegal, the buying and selling of meat, fish and eggs, and also related jobs or work, such as fishing and penning food animals.
